I spent a little time this morning remembering a few of the great experiences we’ve enjoyed over the last year, and feeling grateful for the opportunities. Renee and I grew even closer together as friends and in music (we also celebrated another wedding anniversary recently). We spent some incredible times on the road with friends, playing great music and meeting a lot of great people.
I’d have to say, one of the biggest events that happened was the making our current album, ‘Observatory’. We spent a lot of time working with great musicians, and they really gave incredible performances. I’m also happy to reflect on our new friendship with Lou Spirito, a gifted photographer/journalist/videographer (and web site builder). He and his wife are really special friends. We couldn’t have presented ‘Observatory’ in the way it turned out without them.
Here is a song/video from the album, named ‘After’:
” ‘Observatory’ is an expression of our times through music.
This suite reflects a spectrum of emotions:
• the nostalgia of an idealized past,
• the tension of vexing time in which we live,
• the anxiety of an undefined future..
This final movement, ‘After’, is one of optimism, belief, and brotherhood. ”
I hope this will be a great year ahead for all of us. Let’s make that happen!
This time of year always brings special memories for us, and we hope you are enjoying some quality time with friends and family.
I mentioned it in my earlier post, but I’d like to say it again: Thank You for all of your wonderful and positive feedback! CD Baby has been restocked yet again, and we really appreciate your patience and support! In case you haven’t seen it yet, here is a direct link to our ‘artist page’ at the CD Baby store, where you’ll find both of our albums: CD BABY
We’re happy to tell you our ‘Observatory Release Party/Performance‘ has been booked! Renee and I will be performing with Simon Phillips and Katisse Buckingham at the Baked Potato on January 19th. Please see the ‘Upcoming Events’ section on the lower right side for details. We’re going to play the music from this album and maybe a few from ‘Dialogue’. We’re really looking forward to this!
We have a new ‘Observatory’ video to share. This one is on the ‘lighter side’. You’ll see Simon hard at work in the studio while I take a day away to experience one of my ‘outside music’ hobbies, auto racing.
We will be posting one more video very soon that will feature one of the songs from ‘Observatory’ called ‘After’.
Until that update, we hope you continue to enjoy the Holiday Season!
Hello friends! I’d like to start off with by saying ‘Thank You’ for all of the great feedback I received on our new ‘Observatory’ album, this new website, and the videos!
I’d like to let you know also, that physical copies of ‘Observatory’ are available again. Honestly, the first round of CDs sold out very quickly! I’m glad they are available again, and we appreciate your patience. Here is a link to the store: CD BABY
New Videos! Please click on the ‘videos’ link above and find another 4 videos added.
You’ll see 2 with Simon Phillips (one as engineer/co-producer, the other as a musician), one featuring Katisse Buckingham, who tells us about playing the ballad ‘Nostalgia’ (with rare, inside the iso-booth footage!). The last one features Chris Wabich who gives insight on playing percussion and steel pans. Thanks again to Lou Spirito for his great work in making these videos! Enjoy!
Believe it or not, there are more videos coming! Please check back, and I’ll keep you up to date!
